Aloysius

Oh hey guys, i am back again! Oh man, recently i have been so busy doing so many things! Have been travelling around singapore with my newly bought PSP and Micheal Crichton "next" to go for different courses and meet up with some old friends. What an interesting and fulfilling life. And you guys know that i justed moved house rite? So I bought a pull up bar, a piano, bottle of banana boat Sun tan lotion and etc! So when i finally have time for myself, after school or other respective courses, i will go to my roof-top to sun-tan or practise my piano.

Retaining is so sweet! =p

Anyway as far as thing goes, i finally have a deeper understanding about what i want in life. As you know, i have been travelling alone quite often recently to various courses. And during those bus and train journeys when i got tired of my PSP and my books, i will just do some reflection and search deep into myself and give myself sound and honest replies. I began to take ownership in my life and be responsible for my future. Well its not like i haven been doing that, its just that i never thought that i am really prepared! I am a perfectionist, cant blame me.

Just recently, my driving instructor made me realised how lucky i am. 18 years old, learning, with a car already waiting for me to drive. But am i lucky or is he unlucky? Sounds crude. but lets evaluate the following.

Like all economy essays lets assume that everyone has an average buying power. Otherwise the possible arguments to this question would be endless.

On a financial level,
I would consider myself as an above average kid. (Stop saying i am rich you dumb ignorant ass!)
Have you ever seen rich people before? Nah i doubt so.
Firstly, even though i carry branded goods all over my body but that doesnt necessary means that i am rich. Its just that i am more willing to spend. I am willing to spend to look good. ( So if you have lots of money in your bank account, and you look like shit, and you go around telling people hey "YOU ARE SO RICH MAN." I say F*** off) Now only concern is that, there are people out there who are really poor. These people are definitely less privileged, however if they are willing to work hard to improve their standards of living. Then is really something that is respectable. While those who know that they are poor and still don't do anything about their life. Oh well. adios
I may not be in the best position to tell you who are the rich people or poor people. Because everyone's definition of rich/poor is different!

But just to give you my definition of rich, they are people who have assets, things that produce money for them. These assets can be in the form of the following, loyalties, stocks, insurance, house, business or boobs. They don't necessary need to dress up like super glam or like a celebrity.

So stop saying that i am Rich. Its really annoying. Spare me will you?
But by all means say that i am superfical. I wouldnt blame you for that! HAHA

Popular media has definitely impacted me to a great extend! I have became a victim or a slave to the idea of looking good. But who cares? Havent you?

In the 21st century, like how Thomas Friedman puts it, each country has to put on a golden straitjacket and has to fasten it tighter and tighter so as to allow the electronic herd to stay. Andrew Keen has also given an insightful understanding of the modern media. These are people that i have read that have propelled me to greater understanding of our modern world. Our modern world is a living monster that devours the weak and favors the strong. In darwin's theory of evolution, nature will undergo this process called the natural selection, those that are redundant to the food-chain will start to crumble and finally become extinct.

So in order to be seen or recognised, what would be more important than looks?
No matter how much talent you have, a bugger, bastard or a cunning and shrewed person who can talk better than you will be able to gain credit from you. Imagine this, you are a computer scientist working in a major league IT company with this amazingly talented in making computer chips. You know you just have this innate flair for producing computer chips and you are really happy about it. But no one seems to realise you talent. However, a close co-worker realise the potential profits that he can reap from you and decided to "help you" promote your chips. He/She is a super nice looking person, resembling those gods on mount Olympus would eventually rob you of your deserving fame and promotion!

Well of course there are other more impactful examples which are rather inappropriate to discuss on such a public space.

What i am trying to put across is, first impression is always the final impression of a person.
So if you look good, there will be more chances opened to you. Life is real. Stop being naive. The evaluation of inner beauty only comes after the accepting the first impression.
